PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
Greetings!
On behalf of the officers and members of the Leesburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., we welcome you to our website! We are a chapter with an “Uncompromising Commitment to Communities” through Service, Leadership, and Empowerment. The Leesburg Alumnae Chapter (LAC) was chartered on July 9, 1977, and has been serving the Lake and Sumter Counties community for over 45+ years. As a thriving organization, we are committed to the vision of the 22 illustrious Founders of this sisterhood by continuing to:
Lead local programs and initiatives
Advocate for important issues
Collaborate with like-minded organizations.
We are a sisterhood whose bond is made stronger through community service. We remain steadfast, devoted, guided by scholarship and public service, and rooted in Christian Principles. Through the hard work and dedication of our chapter members, we strive to implement new initiatives established by the organization’s national leadership, not forgetting the concerns of the past, but focusing on the future to meet the ever-growing challenges that affect our communities.
We are here to serve our community through the

Educational Development
Economic Development
International Awareness and Involvement
Physical and Mental Health
Political Awareness and Involvement
As a Chapter, we will always hold on to the belief that, “it’s not about us it’s about our service to others.” LAC has accomplished much but we still have so much more to be done. With your continued support of our programs and projects we will continue to have a positive impact on our community.
We appreciate you taking the time to browse our website in an effort to learn more about our various programs, projects and events. It is my hope that we can partner with other organizations to increase our service reach. Although LAC is a small chapter, we are committed to hard work and will continue to diligently serve our community. Our History
The LAC chapter is continuing its legacy of public concern and public responsibility. It is a public service movement with a past that is glorious and a future that is full of promise. The Leesburg Alumnae chapter is a constituent chapter of the dynamic Southern Region. Almost forty-five years after its establishment, Leesburg Alumnae Chapter celebrates its phenomenal accomplishments under the leadership of its past presidents and current president.
